辛蒂·勞帕(Cyndi Lauper)，全名Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper Thornton，1983年底推出首張個人專輯《She's so unusual》，以其極盡鮮豔、誇張與多變的妝扮造型領導風潮，同時又以其演唱與創作才華，獲得樂界一致好評，不僅專輯銷售達六百萬張、創下首張專輯便擁有四首TOP 5單曲的紀錄外，更於1985年獲第27屆格萊美音樂獎年度最佳歌曲等五個獎項提名，並勇奪最佳新人頭銜，風頭之健僅次於邁克爾·傑克遜。
